The card values works as follows - each numbered card is taken at face value. Thus, the 9 of Spades would give you 9 points. Aces are the most coveted cards, since they can award 1 point or 11, depending on what you need for your hand. All the Face cards, the Jacks, Queens, and Kings, give you 10 points. Now that we’ve got that out of the way, we can get to the rules of play!
You will place your bet, and both yourself and the dealer, against whom you will be playing, will each be dealt 2 cards. If you receive and Ace and a Face card you will have created a Natural and will win immediately. If no Natural was dealt, then you can ask the dealer to give you another card, or Hit, or you can Stand, which means you’ll take no more cards and your round of play is over. You can also Double Down, and Split, the former seeing you doubling your original bet and receiving another card, the latter coming into play if you receive a Pair. These 2 cards can be split into 2 hands and played separately from that point onwards, and will also require that you double your initial bet. You can keep Hitting until you reach 21, or as close as you’re willing to risk going, or until you Bust. Whoever gets to 21 first, wins. If this doesn’t occur, the hand closer in value to it will take the round.
